This has to be the most moving corporate promotional material I’ve ever seen.
Oh, boy. Brief history of America folks:
- Founded in 1776.
- 1776-1892 we get along just fine with no Pledge of Allegiance.
- 1892-1954 the Pledge gets along just fine with no “under God”.
- 1954-Present people assume anything that happened before they were born has always been that way and should stay that way.
“Under God” wasn’t part of the Pledge of Allegiance for 178 years. It’s been included for 57 years. I am constantly baffled by the failing of individuals to see beyond the viewpoint of their own narrow experience (and the education/political system’s failure to teach people to look at issues in a larger context).
